THE EPTA-BRANDED RESTYLING OF THE MEGA ELLINIKO STORE OF ATHENS RENEWS THE COLLABORATION BETWEEN AB VASSILOPOULOS AND FREDDO S.A.

The new phase of collaboration between the Greek supermarket chain AB Vassilopoulos and Freddo S.A., distributor of Epta, chosen for the third time by the Retailers as partner, has given way to a huge project, namely the restyling of the Mega Elliniko Store of Athens, completely transformed thanks to the Epta branded technology.

The famous supermarket chain, founded in Greece in 1939 by the Gerasimos and Heralambos brothers and now part of the Dutch multinational Retail leader Ahold Delhaize, has entrusted itself to Epta for a full renewal of the 6172 m² hypermarket.

​With the goal of inaugurating an increasingly sustainable retail paradigm in the Greek capital, in terms of environment and economy, AB Vassilopoulos has opted for 100% natural refrigeration in line with the most recent European regulatory developments and to the benefit of significantly optimised performance.

WITH ETE OF EPTA, COLD REIGNS SUPREME IN THE HOTTEST CAPITAL OF EUROPE

ETE (Extreme Temperature Efficiency) by Epta also confirms ìts efficiency in hotter climates, allowing cold to reign supreme even in Athens which, emblem of the Mediterranean climate, stands out as the hottest capital in Europe.

The parallel compression system patented by the Group is designed specifically to overcome the limits of the refrigerant fluid, further cooled before its distribution to the final utilities from a subcooling unit, 100% guarantee of the refrigerating capacity between 30 and 40 °C, in addition to significant savings above 40°C.

ETE technology is inserted within a TSC system (Temperature and Superheat Control) Booster, designed to maximise the performance of the refrigerating system, to the benefit of a drastic reduction in operating costs.

The rich assortment of high-yielding fresh products is perfectly preserved in the megastore inside positive temperature semivertical GranSibari and GranValdaj of the Costan GranFit family which, respectively in the Open and Closed version with hinged doors, display fruit and veg loose or in bags and pre-packaged dairy and butcher's products. The department dedicated to these products also features the Stage models, plug-in refrigerated island and Silk Max, self-service and double well cabinet, for a touch of class branded Costan.

Plenty of space is also reserved to the delicious Greek gastronomic specialties which are enhanced by the traditional Velvet cabinets of the Costan Outfit family. They feature a linear, modern and ergonomic design, facilitating the duties of the Operators working at the counter, called to provide qualified advice to the more demanding consumers.

Finally, the range of frozen products is distributed in the negative temperature vertical GranBering and in the sub-zero horizontal Tortuga Ultra of the Costan GranFit family, synonymous with total visibility and reduced energy consumption.
